Pride Month is here, and if you’re thinking that that announcement is coming a week and a half late, you’re not wrong. Some of Baltimore’s LGBTQIA+ Pride events have come and passed, but there are still plenty of great ones to be had over the coming weeks. For those who want to fill out their June calendar with some fun Pride celebrations — whether you’re a member of the community or an ally — look no further. Here are three great events to attend this weekend in Baltimore!

    1. Mount Vernon Pride; Friday, June 13, 3 to 8 p.m.

Park Avenue and Read Street are closing down and playing host to DJs, dancing, food trucks, artists and merch vendors for an all-ages throwdown on Friday. The event is free if you RSVP online, and will start with the sun shining and end with it going down. There is no better place in Baltimore to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community in, as Mount Vernon has been a center of queer life in Baltimore since the 1970s and hosts the Pride Center of Maryland, a home base and help center for Baltimore’s queer community.

    2. Baltimore Pride 50th Anniversary Parade; Saturday, June 14, noon to 1 p.m.

For 50 years, the Baltimore Pride Parade has marched loudly and proudly through the streets of Charm City, no matter what the climate (literally, or politically) has been. This year, the parade celebrates five decades of existence with floats, marching bands, DJs, dancers, drag queens and special guest appearances. The fun kicks off on Charles Street and North Avenue and goes through the heart of Baltimore. It’s free, and attendees are encouraged to bring colorful regalia and signage!

    3. Pride in the Park; Sunday, June 15, noon to 6 p.m.

At Druid Hill Park on Sunday, the community will be celebrating all day with a host of live music, DJs, dancing, food and drink and guest appearances by Kelly Price and Durand Bernarr. This event will have it all, so whether you want to get up and move around or chill in the shade on a blanket, Pride in the Park is for you! Look out for fun giveaways and don’t be afraid to bring your pets! The event is free and open to all ages.
