Parkside Restaurant
Eastsiders get a new neighborhood hangout with the recent opening of the Parkside Restaurant, near Patterson Park. Formerly Block’s Pharmacy, the space has been reimagined in deep, earthy tones with hardwood floors, exposed brick and banquette seating. The menu is built around American comfort food, with plenty of creative flourishes. Favorites include the meatloaf with a fiery tomato demi-glace, served with asparagus and buttermilk mashed potatoes, as well as seafood dishes such as monkfish bouillabaisse, roasted mussels and the “bushel of crabs”— crabmeat in puff pastry.
