Stomachs rejoice: Baltimore Restaurant Week is here. From July 25 to August 3, you’ll be able to visit some of the city’s best and brightest eateries and enjoy both new items and classics. While there are an almost dizzying number of options to choose from, we’ve taken the liberty of cutting that down to five great dishes that you can taste over the next week.
- Bunny’s, Fell’s Point — Corn Flake Catfish Sammie
There is no shortage of places to try a fried fish sandwich in Baltimore, but this one is special. Whether it’s the corn-flake coating, homemade buttermilk dressing or exquisite trout roe that gets you most excited, this dish is a surefire hit.
- Charming Elephant, Canton — Tom Khem
Ever had Laotian food? I didn’t think so. At Charming Elephant, you can dig into some incredible pork belly, served with a delicious egg and steamed rice. This nondescript spot has a variety of great dishes from the southeast Asian country but check out Tom Khem if you’re a fan of well-seasoned meat.
- Little Havana, Federal Hill — Piña Loca
A triple threat of protein — shrimp, steak and chicken — make this dish a delicious and filling option for anyone who tries it. Little Havana is a wonderful spot nestled in Federal Hill with drinks that are just as exciting as the food. Make sure you stop by at some point over the next week!
- Prima Dopo, Fell’s Point — Marco Dopo
Brace yourself for a sandwich from heaven: a short rib burger, pork belly, fried onions, tomato jam, cheddar cheese and shredded lettuce. Nothing else needs to be said.
- Ammoora, Federal Hill — Shish Tawouk
This is a luxurious version of the chicken kebab, with grilled vegetables, saffron rice, pomegranate seeds, Aleppo chili and yogurt sauce all placed atop a toasted and spiced lavash bread. Everyone loves kebabs, and this one is absolutely worth trying.
This is just the tip of the iceberg at Baltimore Restaurant Week, as there are dozens and dozens more delicious dishes to try. Go online to baltimorerestaurantweek.com to get the full rundown.
