Science Happy Hour
The Wine Collective and the Maryland Science Center are coming together to host a social like no other. Wine enthusiasts can look forward to a kid-free after-hours experience including a presentation of craft wines and a wine tasting. Attendees are allowed to bring picnic-style snacks. Baltimore Symphony Orchestra: The Music of John Williams
The film scores of John Williams evoke a powerful nostalgia in fans across the spectrum of film from Star Wars to Indiana Jones, “Jaws” and “Jurassic Park.” Hear notes from his iconic compositions with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall at 1212 Cathedral St. in Baltimore. Black August: Uplifting the History of Resistance Behind the Walls
Learn about the history of Black resistance in the United States from the Civil War to the Black Power movement with Baltimore Racial Justice Action. BRJA is a nonprofit working to dismantle racism. Human Musical Group Sensations Glass Animals: Tour of Earth
See Glass Animals live at 7:45 p.m. at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia. Glass Animals is a band whose music has been described as psychedelic pop, indie pop, electronic rock, alternative pop and indie rock. The Aug. 17 show will feature Kevin Abstract, a rapper, singer and songwriter known for being a founding member of Brockhampton. Baltimore Orioles vs. Chicago White Sox

First Responders Showcase
Bring the kids to meet first responders, learn about their roles and take a ride on the One Mile Express to the restoration shop for a controlled collision demonstration. During the demonstration, attendees can watch first responders in action as they handle the simulated emergency. This event will take place from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the B&O Railroad Museum at 901 W. Simply the Best: The Ultimate Tina Turner Tribute

Baltimore Book Festival 2024
Celebrate the stories we share and more stories to come at the Baltimore Book Festival’s 25th anniversary. Last year, the festival hosted local authors and poets across genres, neighborhood book sellers and small businesses.
