Baltimore Cocktail Week kicked off Sunday night at Pen & Quill

Baltimore Cocktail Week 2016 ladies’ bartender competition winner Arielle Johnson’s original drink is a bold twist on the Brooklyn cocktail—the perfect cool sipper for a hot summer night.

“The use of Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey in place of the traditionally used rye whiskey brings a mellower base to the cocktail,” says event spokesperson Ginny Lawhorn.

1.5 ounces Tullamore Dew
.75 ounce Averna amaro
.5 ounce Noilly Prat dry vermouth
.25 ounce Tremontis Mirto myrtle berry liqueur

Combine ingredients. Chill and shake.

Johnson (pictured) represented Verde in Canton for the competition, which STYLE co-sponsored. Our own own editor-in-chief, Betsy Boyd, helped judge the tasty toasting.
