Maybe I’m watching too many makeover shows, but it seems everyone has a great smile but me. I am ready for an improvement but I’m worried about the results looking false. The only downside to getting fabulous-looking teeth from Dr. Charles Fine (McDonough Dental, 20 Crossroads Dr., Owings Mills, 410-363-2500) is that other people can’t stop staring at your upper cuspids and wishing they, too, could look that good. Savvy has been asked time and again about her sensational smile. She casually chalks it up to good genes — and then tells a select few about Dr. Fine. Unlike other cosmetic dentists who approach patients as though they’re on “Extreme Makeover,” Fine focuses on smaller changes for a natural, beautiful look. Savvy knows who in town is happy to charge you outrageously and give you a mouthful of fake-looking, blindingly white teeth. But she’d much rather you go to Dr. Fine and have him use his restrained combination of whiting, artful tooth shaping and high-quality veneers to give you gorgeous results without making you look like you’ve been “done.” Now that’s something to smile about.
