In ancient Greece, the agora was a gathering space for the community. That inviting factoid inspired the newly rebranded Agora Bar and Grill, the redesigned first-floor restaurant at the Inn at the Black Olive. Combining the Olive Room, a rooftop dining space at the hotel, and Agora Market, the ground-floor restaurant, the Agora Bar and Grill will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as brunch on the weekends.
The hotel is already well known for its environmentally friendly rooms; now, Agora will bring organic, fresh and sustainably sourced food to the table—literally. “It’s casual, but really high-quality food—really clean and fresh and accessible,” says Dimitris Spiliadis, who operates the hotel. With this redesign, the restaurant will be more open and moderately priced, but retain the best of both its predecessors. There will be lots of fresh fish—the scampi is a true specialty—along with an artisan cocktail bar, including a signature blood orange cosmopolitan. “It’s just a casual, very good restaurant,” Spiliadis says. “It’s not meant to have any pretense.”
