Boordy Vineyards holds the distinction of being the first winery in Maryland, dating back to 1945, though they did make wines before their formal establishment. It operates out of a restored 19th-century barn but uses state-of-the-art equipment in making its wine. Boordy is well-known for its Chesapeake Icons wine series, a dry wine collection whose bottles are decorated with images of Chesapeake Bay wildlife.
Boordy Vineyards is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2025, marking the occasion with several events and a special Founder’s Reserve wine blend.
