Towson Circle’s vintage 1952 Hutzler’s building has a new tenant, and it’s a beauty. VIN (pronounced “Vine”) oozes high-style sophistication and polish. The interior will put you in mind of a retro supper club with its tiered, plush red banquettes and sleek lighting fixtures. A long bar, a snug little lounge area, a private dining room and an outdoor deck round out the seating choices. Chef/owner Christopher Paternotte (formerly of Kali’s Court and Mezze) has created a menu of high-end American comfort food with fanciful touches, such as tomato soup with a grilled cheese crouton, lobster corndogs, Lobster Thermador and a Cobb dinner salad. Of course, there are plenty of wine selections to pair with those dishes, but our favorite spirits are the swanky specialty cocktails: French Kiss, Orange Rush or Black Velvet, anyone? Serving lunch and dinner. Free valet parking. (1 E. Joppa Road #155, corner of Shealy and Delaware avenues, 410-337-0797)
