Head south of the border— the Federal Hill border, that is— to a sophisticated little slice of Mexico called Lime. Billing itself as “a tequila bar,” it doesn’t disappoint. When you belly up to the bar, you’ll be served a complimentary shot of tequila in a half-lime. That’ll set the tone for the selection of more than 60 tequilas offered, as well as 15 types of Mexican beers. Don’t overlook the house specialty drinks, such as the Limelight, the Bullfighter and the Stoli Caroli (that’s a frosty bottle of Corona beer with a hidden shot of Stolichnaya). The menu of Mexican dishes is concise but intriguing: nachos done with flair, tacos, burritos, quesadilleos and “salsa on my balsa” (that’s Mexican meatballs served on a bed of four homemade salsas and topped with cheese). Save room for the “Key Highway lime pie,” made by the Baltimore Cupcake Co., just down the street. (801 E. Fort Ave., 410-685-lime)
