Already saddled with our work bag, techno-gadgets, keys and, maybe, a yoga mat or water bottle, toting around an umbrella seems almost impossible. But when caught in a rainstorm, you would move mountains to have one, right? Back in 1992, designers Tibor Kalman and Emanuela Frattini Magnusson gave the umbrella an artful makeover for the MoMA Design Store. Their “Sky Umbrella” (pictured above) has become a classic: long wooden handle and contrasting black exterior/blue-sky-with-puffy-clouds interior. Also available: models featuring van Gogh’s “Starry Night,” Pollock’s “White Light” and Lichtenstein’s “Drowning Girl.” When your umbrella features such dandy eye candy, you’ll pray for rain. Yours for $55 at the MoMAstore.org
