Chef Richard Dsouza grew up in Mumbai and honed his culinary chops on cruise ships all over the world. Now he’s brought his international street food smarts to Meet 27, a new restaurant in Remington that serves everything from chickpea fritters to Vietnamese-style barbecue chicken to fresh fish over plantains. The restaurant, which sits next to Sweet Sin, the gluten-free bakery Dsouza owns with his baker-wife, Renee, serves a mean burger, too— on home-baked gluten-free focaccia. Dsouza and partner Paul Goldberg want Meet 27 to be a community gathering space. With its glittering chandeliers, colorful wall murals and accommodations for those with a variety of dietary issues, it sure feels welcoming. 127 W. 27th St., 410-585-8121. —Laura Wexler
