Dukem Restaurant in Washington now has a Baltimore outpost. The popular ethnic spot serving classic Ethiopian cuisine has settled into a compact but inviting spot on a quiet corner at Maryland Avenue and Chase Street. Warm wood paneling, a small cluster of tables and a snug bar welcome diners ranging from symphony patrons enjoying pre-show dinner to dating college students to African ex-pats. Fresh sautéed beef, lamb and chicken, along with well-spiced items like chopped greens and yellow lentils, are standard parts of the menu. In the traditional manner, the food is eaten sans utensils, with pieces of injera— the flat, spongy native bread. (1100 Maryland Ave., 410-385-0318)
