We’ve already sung the praises of Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa in these pages. What you may not know is that the sprawling resort in the hills of southern Pennsylvania (a 2-hour, 40-minute drive) has added a new boutique hotel, the 42-room Falling Rock. The dramatically designed property includes an infinity edge heated pool, six private poolside cabanas with plasma-screen TVs, a fitness center, luxe locker rooms (the men’s includes beautiful cherry wood lockers, leather sofas, backgammon tables, a pool table and a bar!), as well as the Amber lounge and the inventive Aqeous restaurant.

The experience begins at check-in— or lack of check-in— when your personal butler sees to your luggage before you step out of your car. You’re then whisked directly to your room— no pausing in a lobby queue to register. Your butler attends to all your needs, including 24-hour room service, or if you just need a lift to the Woodlands Spa (he’ll personally chauffeur you there in one of the company Hummers).

Architecturally, the place is a marvel of Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired design. The soaring three-story open atrium lobby features stacked-stone walls and firepits, geometric patterned carpets with American Indian motifs and multiple seating groupings for gatherings. Overhead, four towering 27-foot-tall stone Indian totems watch over the activity of the lobby and bar. Out the expansive wall of windows lie the rolling greens of Mystic Rock, the Pete Dye-designed PGA golf course.

Your large, comfortable room features high-coffered ceilings, a digital flat-screen TV residing in the armoire, woven wool carpets, sumptuous 320-thread-count sheets and a balcony overlooking the golf course or pool. Be prepared to select from the “menu” of nine different pillow types to rest your head. The expansive marble bath includes and extra-deep soaking tub with reading rack and a glass shower with multiple-head sprays and a pouring fountain feature.

The cost to build this little slice of paradise? A cool $66 million. The cost to stay? Rooms range from #450 to $850. For reservations, call 800-422-2736; http://www.nemacolin.com
