Atomic BooksRachel Whang and Benn Ray have been Baltimore’s best purveyors of everything from cool to kitsch since they relaunched Atomic Books in 2001. Their newest venture, Atomic Pop, is Baltimore’s first home for “lowbrow art” — a movement started in the ’70s on the West Coast that employs pop culture themes. Most of the store is dedicated to the vinyl arts. If you know what that is, chances are you have already been to Atomic Pop. If not, these toy-ish art pieces, at turns naïve and punky, and priced from just a few dollars to hundreds, are worth exploring. Don’t miss: Rachel and Benn have moved their stock of art books and magazines to this location. There’s always something inspiring and fabulous on the shelves. 3620 Falls Road, 410-366-1004
