The petite market stocks a pantry-full of gourmet essentials, from Pico Planet Salsas and Old Bay Peanut Spread by Clinger’s Naturals to locally grown produce and beef from Springfield Farm in Sparks. “I don’t like to pigeonhole myself,” says Torbey, a former attorney who moved to Baltimore two years ago from San Francisco, “but I try to have as much local foods as possible. Still, you’ll also find English teas and Vegemite.” Torbey says many of her customers drop in before dinner, and she hopes to launch a “Dinner in a Bag,” concept in which she’ll fill a bag with the raw materials— say, orzo pasta, feta, dill, cucumber and maybe some shrimp— and a recipe. “You’ll be able to make it in 30 minutes or less,” she says. “It’ll take the thinking out of cooking.” 2001 Fleet St., 410-342-0008
