Marta Quintana is a first-generation Cuban native (and former corporate executive) with a love of cooking and Cuban cuisine. She and partner Michael Storey have opened Havana Road in Towson, serving up authentic dishes like Santiago Ropa Vieja (braised, pulled, beef brisket simmered in white wine, tomato sauce, garlic and Cuban spices), shrimp and rice, classic Cubano pressed sandwiches and hearty black bean soup. The dining space is done up in warm, earthy colors with twinkling lights overhead, vintage photos and sturdy wooden tables with shabby-chic seating. The atmosphere is convivial and comforting. Open for lunch and dinner; closed on Sundays. 8 W. Pennsylvania Ave., 410-494-8222
