“It’s like having a dinner party every night,” says owner Debi Bell-Matassa of Alchemy, a new modern American eatery on The Avenue in Hampden. Bell-Matassa, a certified sommelier who owned Fusion Grille in Fallston with her chef-husband, Michael, seeks out fine wines at reasonable prices to complement entrées such as mahogany catfish filet served with a sweet corn and crab relish and pecan-crusted lamb chops. Sunday brunch features sweet and savory crepes, shirred eggs with oven-baked spinach, house-baked cinnamon rolls with vanilla bean cream cheese frosting and sparkling champagne. Dine on leopard-print chairs around wooden tables in the main dining room, or at tables adorned with crisp white tablecloths in the intimate second level. Open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. 1011 W. 36th St., 410-366-1163,
