On a late September evening, hundreds of guests gathered in the Jim Rouse Building of the American Visionary Art Museum to
enjoy a night of food and fashion. Urban Chic, Style magazine and Putting on the Ritz partnered to host the event, with all proceeds going to support the museum.

The night kicked off with a VIP reception hosted at Mr. Rain’s Fun House. Afterward, guests enjoyed sampling dishes from Morton’s The Steakhouse, Ra Sushi, The Oceanaire, Lebanese Taverna and Kali’s Restaurant Group. Cocktails and drinks were provided by Barefoot Wines and by Infinium Spirits.

Live entertainment for the evening was provided by Rockville band the VIPs, who engaged the audience with high-energy covers of crowd-pleasing hits. Local artist Michelle Mishka Colombo created a “painting for happiness” using only CoverGirl Cosmetics as her medium. Her work, along with many other prizes, was featured in a silent auction. A photo booth also was available (courtesy of Facial Plastic Surgicenter of MD) for guests to snap themselves.

Models sashayed down the runway wearing fashions provided by Urban Chic, and jewelry by Radcliffe Jewelers. Hair was by Kobi Salon and makeup by CoverGirl. The show even featured a cameo appearance by Baltimore’s own “Ace of Cakes,” Duff Goldman.

At the end of the evening, guests received gift bags filled with goodies from the sponsors of the night’s festivities. The soiree raised $17,000 to benefit AVAM
