BottomsUp
My favorite part of spring is the contrasts: the brisk mornings softened with sunny afternoons, the grays of winter fading into the warm colors of fresh gardens. This cocktail is a lovely, light divergence from the heavier cocktails of winter now past. The brightness of the deep-red, semi-sweet strawberries, complemented with a touch of acidity from the lime, and rounded out with exuberance of fresh basil, will liven up this season’s palette.

1.5 oz Blue Ice American Potato Vodka
1.5 oz soda water
4 oz ginger beer
1 strawberry, 2 basil leaves, 1⁄4 lime

In a Collins glass, muddle one large fresh strawberry with the juice of one quarter lime. Add vodka and soda water. Top with fresh ice and fill with ginger beer. Garnish with basil.
