20141028_hubbard_471-667x1024We all know Maryland’s gardens are gorgeous, but now we can say they’re award-winning—or at least their photographers are! Virginia-based shutterbug Roger Foley recently received two silver medals from the GWA Association for Garden Communicators for his work in On Walnut Hill: The Evolution of a Garden, which chronicles the development of a Ruxton landscape over 45+ years. (You may remember his photos of Walnut Hill from last year’s STYLE story “Walnut Hill Splendor,” adapted from the aforementioned book by author and frequent STYLE contributor Kathy Hudson.)

Foley’s impressive awards were for “photography in a general readership book of more than 120 pages” and for “a portfolio of ten photographs.” This isn’t the first time his work has been lauded, either—he also received second place in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition for “Sun Shower,” another Walnut Hill shot.

The STYLE team is thrilled to see his brilliant work receiving the recognition it deserves!
