Savvy has fervently followed the transformative take on French luxury that Marc Jacobs has infused into Louis Vuitton. His collections have been perfection and his collaborations with visionaries like Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami were unexpected and inspired. Needless to say, when Savvy heard Baltimore would be scoring its own LV store, she could barely contain her excitement. Imagine, being able to peruse each new collection without having to hop a train or plane. When she breathlessly entered the store, she could only manage these words: “Where are the clothes?” The saleswoman looked at her as if she’d just asked if Marc would be wrapping purchases at the counter. “We don’t have those here.” Indeed. Was Savvy’s hope foolish and naïve? Perhaps. But darn it, if Burberry can stock key pieces, is it too much to ask that our LV offer more than what you’d get at the duty free shop? Apparently, oui.
