35 Feel Good Budget, Beauty and Design Tips

Comments

I used to work in Public Relations at Winterthur Museum & Country Estate, which is filled with American antiques. Its founder, H.F. du Pont, used to change the bed coverings, draperies and rugs each season, for each of the many bedrooms in his more than 150 room house. And he matched the colors to the ever-changing palette of colors in the gardens outside the windows.

Now most of us don’t have multiple sets of rugs and curtains for each room, but adding a throw rug to one, or a change of curtains for another are doable.

Simplest is changing the heavy winter quilts for lighter and brighter summer blankets to bring a fresh feel to a bedroom, or even do the same with furniture coverings. For those with a green thumb, taking the views outside the window into consideration can bring a different POV to color in a room.
