Glamour Girl
The ever-wonderful Victoria and Albert Museum in London, repository of so much fashion history (as well as all kinds of other history, of course), opens one of its most highly anticipated exhibitions tomorrow:

It’s called Grace Kelly: Style Icon, and boy, does Glamour Girl wish she could just hop on a plane and go see it.
When it comes to fashion, the V&A knows its stuff. Its collections are as great as those of the The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Fashion Institute of Technology, both in New York. I’ll never forget a V&A exhibition on surrealism I saw a few years ago, with lots of original dresses by Elsa Schiaparelli right there close enough to touch. It was breathtaking.
If you’ve picked up a copy of Vanity Fair lately, you already know about this exhibition, as Grace Kelly is on the cover.
And there are lots of other wonderful places on-line where you can find coverage of this most elegant and glamorous embodiment of her name, such as this feast for the eyes at Net-A-Porter and this comprehensive article in The Guardian.
Also worth checking out are these pages on Hollywood designer Helen Rose, who created some of the most spectacular costumes for the silver screen, and who designed Grace Kelly’s wedding gown for her marriage to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. The Vintage Fashion Guild is a great resource. So is Dressing Vintage, which has tons of gorgeous photographs. And another good historical reference is Fashion Era.
There are enough yummy photos and text about Kelly’s impeccable style to keep you occupied for hours. And if you are going to London anytime between now and September 26th, when the V&A exhibit wraps up, do let us know how you like it!
