Slainte Irish Pub & Restaurant

Baltimore can never have too many authentic Irish pubs, and we’ve added another to the roster with the opening of Slainte Irish Pub & Restaurant in the heart of Fells Point. The look of the place suggests the real McCoy, with lots of warm wood accents, cozy booths and nooks for tucking into a comforting shepherd’s pie or a plate of bangers and mash. The bar pours a nice variety of “serious” ales, from Guinness and Boddington’s, to Harp and our own Clipper City. But wait, there’s more. While Slainte occupies the first two floors, go up one more flight and you’ll find yourself an ocean away at Woody’s Love Shack & Rum Bar, a Caribbean-themed joint serving burgers and wraps. Aside from the distinct island vibe, it offers an outdoor area with a commanding view of Thames Street and the water. Serving lunch and dinner seven days a week. (1700 Thames St., 410-563-6600)
