The mix at Power Plant Live! gets spiced up with the arrival of Mex, a new high- energy restaurant and bar, where “classic Mexican meets urban cowboy.” Modeled after the Tequila Ranch at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida, the space features splashy graphics, and was designed by Knauer Design of Chicago. Authentic Mexican cuisine alongside classic Tex-Mex favorites like table-side handmade guacamole, house specialty salsas and fresh fish tacos comprise the moderately priced menu. There’s also a creative cocktail menu— offering original spins on margaritas, martinis and sangria— in addition to an impressive selection of premium tequilas and bourbons. Besides the expansive bar and several dining areas, there’s a comfortable, secluded lounge area, an outdoor deck and two entertainment stages.
