For years, Fletcher’s was a popular bar and live music venue that was known for drawing a fun, diverse crowd to its non-fussy digs on the edge of Fells Point. Now, owner Bryan Burkert has re-imagined the space as a sleekly designed, two-level DJ-oriented lounge called The Get Down. Burkert brought in lighting and production designer Scott Chmielewski to create a moody atmosphere that includes multiple bar, lounge, dancing and performance areas. Computer-driven lighting effects wrap the two-story walls in waves of moving color and light. There are plenty of intimate nooks to engage in personal conversation, and lots of open spaces to get your groove on. DJs rule the roost most nights, but live acts are occasionally booked, too.
