The new kid on the block at Harbor East is Talara, which describes itself as a ‘Nuevo Latino’ tapas restaurant and bar. The 100-seat space seeks to evoke a South Beach vibe with Cuban art, bright colors in the lighting and seating and an authentic seviche bar overlooking the open kitchen. Seviche comes prepared in seven styles, including traditional with lime, curried tropical fruit, Fire and Ice and ginger tataki. In addition, expect Latin favorites like bocadillos (finger sandwiches), empanadas and mini paellas. The popular cocktail bar specializes in fresh fruit mojitos, margaritas, sangria and authentic caipirinhas (a sour-sweet combination of crushed limes, sugar and cachaça liquor), the national cocktail of Brazil.
