Joss Sushi in historic Annapolis is legendary—people wait in blocks-long lines to dine in the shoebox-sized restaurant. And before it opened earlier this summer in the former Kawasaki location in Mount Vernon, plenty of local folks made the pilgrimage there. But now Baltimore has its very own Joss, and it’s a beautifully serene space, with a bamboo canopy and pillars and seating for 130 upstairs and down. All the standard sushi is fresh and pretty, but don’t overlook the insider favorites: conch fritters, the spicy scallop roll and the appetizer of Japanese pickles.
