Restaurateurs Annmarie Langton, Tom Looney and Ed Scherer, all previously of Helen’s Garden, have made the epicurean morph into the new wave, leaving behind the confines of a bricks-and-mortar restaurant to hop on their Gypsy Queen Food Truck. “The truck has two chefs on it at all times to ensure great food,” says Looney. Look for signs of it downtown at Commerce and Lombard, Harbor East, the University of Maryland campus and in Towson and Hunt Valley, where fans of these chefs eagerly wait for their arrival. On board, they’re cooking up wild mushroom burgers with truffle butter, creamy mac ‘n’ cheese in a waffle cone and a mess of street tacos (Thai chicken tacos with peanut sauce and ginger slaw, barbecue pulled pork tacos with fresh pineapple, etc.).  A must-have is the creamy crab cappuccino served in a coffee mug.
