The original in Pikesville has been a muy popular spot since opening a few years ago. Now chef/ owner Jamie Luna has introduced a sibling restaurant down the street, Mari Luna Latin Grille. Both the menu and the setting are more ambitious and expansive than the older Grill, and have proven to be popular, as evidenced by the crowds that congregate here. The lounge area and the main dining room are done up in rich Caribbean-style colors with lots of tile accents and a playful yet sophisticated vibe. The menu expands on the Mexican dishes of the original to include the cooking styles of the Caribbean and Central and South America. Look for items like Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken, ropa vieja (a Cuban dish of shredded beef in a pastry tart with tomato sauce) and a Yucatan-style grilled pork chop.
