Since the early ’90s, chef Nancy Longo and her celebrated restaurant Pierpoint have been known for refreshing takes on Maryland-inspired New American cuisine and seafood. Now she brings her talents to Baltimore County with the opening of Longo’s. Taking over the well-known space at Green Spring Station that once housed the popular Harvey’s (as well as a series of short-lived follow-up ventures: Town Hall, City Crab, Nick & Tony’s), the decor remains pretty much as in previous incarnations. But Longo has brought in many of her signature menu items to jazz things up: Renza’s salad (market greens with jumbo shrimp, tasso ham, roasted red peppers, gorgonzola, pine nuts and lemon-basil vinaigrette), the “Balto Box” (a smoked crab cake, Chesapeake clams casino, cornmeal fried oysters and a mini coddie with horseradish-caper sauce) and entree items such as pan-roasted wild rockfish and grilled, cider-brined pork chops.  Green Spring Station, 410-339-7717.
