Occupying the spot of an old magic shop in Federal Hill, Illusions Magic Bar & Lounge brings a bit of old-style sophistication to this neighborhood better known for its frat-house atmosphere. Owner Ken Horsman, a former professional clown, and his son Spencer, an internationally known magician, have completely redone the vast interior into an “upscale, Roaring ’20s-style cocktail bar and lounge.” There are several comfy lounge areas to relax and converse, and the handsome Art Deco main bar features a small stage at its center. Prepare to be entertained: Several times per evening, Spencer performs a short show of magical illusions, card tricks and a signature straitjacket escape act.
