I also attended this talk and Celeste pretty much summed it up. His tagline is “Eat Food. Not too much. Mostly Plants” Pretty simple right? He is also a big believer in balance & moderation which is the message I convey to my clients in my Holistic Health Coaching practice. Michael Pollan makes a lot of sense and I recommend that everyone starts to get more educated about the American diet because we are in serious trouble here.

I’ve always loved his philosophy, especially the way he boiled it down to 7 words:  “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”

I really love the statement if it comes in a box .. That is probably the best statement ever.
We as in this country want everything fast. We want it now and never take the time to really enjoy a meal with family or friends.
There is so much joy and love in preparing a meal or anything from scratch,(As my mom would say),  All of the chemicals put in to make foods last longer on the shelf is not good for the health of everyone. Did you ever notice how long the milk last before going sour, or the bread fresh before becoming stale?  Makes you wonder.

He is a very compelling speaker, and especially in light of recent revelations about Paula Deen’s health, his wisdom is very timely.

Another good rule of thumb: If it comes in a box, it’s probably not good for you!
