Pat & Jeanine Turner, along with Eric Turner, hosted a VIP preview party tonight to celebrate the opening of the Tower at Silo Point. After rounding up with some friends at Corvino in Federal Hill, we headed over to the Locust point site. Drinks and hors d’oeurve were being served in the recently furnished lobby, and four model units in the tower were open for viewing. Up in the penthouse, we ran into Lou Licata and Patrick Byrne, and I spent some time talking to Michael Marx of RUB Barbecue, who gave me the scoop on his new restaurant, Miguel’s, that he’ll be opening in the large space off the lobby downstairs in the coming months. Pat Morrow from Ryleigh’s was busy shucking oysters for guests there as well, as they roamed through the space and out onto the terrace with its perfect birdseye view of the city skyline.
