What a beautiful day for the Preakness Stakes! After a soggy (but still fun) day yesterday at Pimlico, I joined friends as a guest of Filippo Lapides of AV Brands in seats 4 rows back from the rail in the Grandstand section, with an excellent view of the track as it heads to the finish line. Spent the sunny afternoon hobnobbing with friends in the surrounding sections— Ayda Said, Chris Whisted, Melissa Lembo and many more— before heading over to the corporate tents to check out the scene there. Ducking in and out of several tents, I caught up with Greg Harris, Arah Katz of Constellation Energy, Monyka Berrocosa, Live Baltimore’s Anna Custer, Barb & John Clapp, Lisa Koogle, Hannah Byron, Maryland Film Office’s Jack Gerbes, Sam Polikoff, Sloane Brown and a gaggle of others. Laid down a few bets that didn’t pan out, but it was such an incredible day, capped by another incredible win for Big Brown, that it didn’t matter.
