Our little foodies/media group gets together periodically to socialize and to sample restaurants around town. Eddie Applefeld organized a dinner at Jordan’s Steakhouse in Ellicott City for seven of us this evening, including Celeste Corsaro, Diane Macklin, Randi Rom, Dara Bunjon and Anne Boone-Simanski. Jordan’s has been a favorite of mine for the past several years but I only get there about twice a year since the drive from our house in the city takes about 40 minutes. This evening was rainy, but it was cheery inside at the bar when I arrived and the rest of the group was already underway with cocktails. Half an hour later, we headed upstairs to a table and proceeded to have a wonderful meal and a lot of fun. I usually get a steak at Jordan’s, but opted tonight for the roasted chicken, which was excellent. Storytelling honors for the night went to Anne, relating her story about the hotel she stayed in for this year’s Kentucky Derby— hilarious. Our group got a bit loud and rambunctious, but there was another large group at a nearby table, so hopefully we didn’t stand out too much!
