Tues., May 12
Local foodie Dara Bunjon organized a fun little dinner this evening for several food writers and bloggers, including myself, Lynn Williams, Kit Pollard and Downtown Diane. We gathered at Sotto Sopra for an evening of authentic Sardinian cooking by guest chef Daniela Useli. On the menu: cabbage cakes with cheese fondue, lasagne alla Bolognese, branzino in a wine sauce and for dessert, sebadas— a crispy, airy dough filled with pecorino cheese and brushed with honey. Everything was wonderfull, but the light-as-a-feather lasagne noodles and the unique dessert were standouts. Daniela does dinners at Sotto Sopra periodically (next one is June 15) and teaches cooking classes monthly. She’s charming and certainly knows her way around the kitchen!
