On Monday night I headed down to the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore Hotel for this year’s Culinary Extravaganza to benefit Meals On Wheels of Central Maryland. Some of Baltimore’s best chefs were on hand to cook for the event, including Jerry Edwards, Winston Blick, Barry Fleischmann (awesome shrimp and grits), Nino Germano, Nancy Longo, Jerry Pellegrino and Rodney Henry (love the “Baltimore Bomb”). The ballroom was packed and the food was great. Fun crowd at our table, too. After that, if was around the corner to the bar at B&O Brasserie for some post-prandial cocktails. On Tuesday, it was a brief stop at the pre-performance reception for Ira Glass at the College of Notre Dame. I couldn’t stay for the entire show in the LeClerc Auditorium, but it was fun to hear some tales from this local-boy-made-good. “An Evening with Ira Glass” benefitted Civic Works.
