Turn Up the Heat fashion show
February 9, 2012

The "Turn Up the Heat" fashion show was held at BMW of Towson on Thursday, February 9. The fashion show featured spring looks from South Moon Under and the latest trends in lingerie and swimwear from Lingerie Lingerie . Jewelry for the models was provided by Radcliffe Jewelers and their hair and makeup was compliments of A Style Studio and DK Salon & Spa. Each of the beautiful models are patients of the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland - the presenting sponsor of the show. STYLE magazine was on-site as the media sponsor and editor Brian Lawrence and fashion blogger Lisa Simeone were the emcees for the evening. The event raised more than $3,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through ticket sales and wonderful raffle items. Attendees were treated to an array of hors d'oeuvres from Bluestone and wine from DiWine Spirits.

Despite a rainy evening, our second Girls’ Night Out of 2011 brought out a beautiful crowd of stylish ladies with their friends to Radcliffe Jewelers at Towson Town Center. About Faces was on-site with their mini-treatments including free feather/glitter extensions. Jdot music & entertainment provided the sounds for the evening while guests dined on passed hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts.

Couture at the Club: An Evening of Ravishing Fashion

"Couture at the Club: An Evening of Ravishing Fashion" was held at The Center Club on Friday, November 18. The fashion show featured the season's hottest looks from Jones & Jones and Jos. A. Bank. STYLE magazine was a proud media partner of the event that collected donations for Suited to Succeed - a local nonprofit providing clothing and workshops to women transitioning to work from underemployment and empowering women to improve their lives. For the inaugural event Sloane Brown, The Sun's Fashion and Entertainment columnist, was the emcee for the evening as chic guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and music.

Urban Chic Revolution
September 15, 2011

An Urban Chic REVOLUTION took over Baltimore on September 15. At the 3rd Annual Fall fashion show to benefit the American Visionary Art Museum, our hip crowd brought their fab fashion sense and friends to gush over the new fall fashions. Our models for the evening included local celebrities Sarah Caldwell, Ava Marie and Sarah Fleischer from WBALTV and 98Rock respectively.

All hair styling for the models was provided by Kobi Day Spa and Salon. Makeup artist Amie Decker used COVERGIRL makeup exclusively on their eyes, lips and lashes.

Each of the two fashion shows were accompanied by live music from the VIPs and MC “Sir” Andrew Larris. Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed tastings from local restaurants including Talara, The Capital Grille, RA Sushi, Lebanese Taverna, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Kali’s Restaurant Group, Putting on the Ritz Catering, Sweet Bakery and Charm City Cakes. Silo.5% provided wine for the evening and cocktails from Casa Noble, Zaya Rum and Crystalhead Vodka raised everyone’s spirits.

As guests entered the American Visionary Art Museum, they had their picture snapped as they posed in front of the Step & Repeat. Friends gathered in the photobooth sponsored by Facial Plastic Surgicenter of MD and were able to take home their pictures as a fun souvenir.

An exciting silent auction and a mystery raffle from Radcliffe Jewelers raised additional funds for the benefit. All guests received a chic gift bag as they left the event and were able to collect their car quickly from Jay’s Valet who provided valet parking for the evening.

Prince Edward visits Baltimore
June 21, 2011

His Royal Highness, The Prince Edward, visited Baltimore to help promote the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Program. HRH The Prince's visit concluded with a garden party at the home of Karen and Todd Ruppert, World Fellow and founding board member of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – Young Americans’ Challenge. During the cocktail hour, guests were provided with a tour of the many gardens and sculptures located on Ruppert's property. HRH The Prince and Miss America Teresa Scanlan shared personal stories with the 75 guests during dinner. The dinner party was catered by Linwoods with fine wines provided by Tony Forman.

2010 Wish List Unveiling – in support of Make-A-Wish Foundation

The gift giving season is officially underway, and what better way to find unique ideas than in STYLE magazine’s Wish List? An event to unveil this year’s picks was held at the STYLE Sky Lounge at Silo Point. The event served as a fundraiser & friend-raiser for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation, with raffle prize packages including theatre tickets, COVERGIRL products, massages, an IPOD and more. Guests enjoyed Apple Spiced Margaritas courtesy of Miguel’s Cantina and sounds from Gramophone. Urban Chic's Runway to Happiness
September 30, 2010

Despite rainy weather, Urban Chic's Fall Fashion Fundraiser, benefiting the American Visionary Art Museum, was a wildly successful good time. The latest in fashion flowed not just on the runway, but on young hip crowd in attendance. Celebrity Guests included Mary Amons (The Housewives of DC), Jenna Bush, and even Duff Goldman (Ace of Cakes) walked the runway in Urban Chic attire. Hair styling was provided by Kobi Day Spa and Salon and make up artists Covergirl came in from NYC to assist models with their makeup. Two fashion shows, with live music from the VIPs and MC Sir Andrew, were topped off with delicious tastings from area restaurants. Signature cocktails from Casa Noble, Zaya Rum, Crystal Head Vodka, and Barefoot Bubbly raised everyone's spirits. Activities included a Step & Repeat for guests (posted separately), a wildly a fun photo booth compliments of the Facial Plastic Surgicenter of MD, a silent auction, a mystery raffle from Radcliffe Jewelers, and a live artist capturing the spirit of the event. All guests received a chic gift bag on their way out, as they handed their ticket to Jay's Valet service, who provided complimentary valet for the evening.

Gramophone - BSO Music Matters

Music lovers, music makers, and GRAMOPHONE worked "in concert" to support the BSO's Music Matters program at Gramophone's Timonium location on July 29th. David P. Coombs (BSO Contrabasson) , Igor Yuzefovich (BSO Asst. Concertmaster), and Dariusz Skoraczewski (BSO Asst. Principal Cello) offered two intimate showcases of their talents and mingled and chatted with guests. Guests viewed artist Tom Stiltz's paintings while they enjoyed unique demonstrations from Gramophone featured partners; Meridian, Totem, PSB, and NAD.

A benefit for The House of Ruth's 'Ruth's Closet' project, guests enjoyed a pre-show cocktail hour and wine tasting featuring Italian wines (courtesy of the Wine Wave), models strutted the runway showcasing Vasarri & Smyth collections on one of the two stunning unit terraces, followed by an exquisite trunk show of Vasarri and Smyth merchandise.

Anthony Bourdain & Eric Ripert at The Hippodrome

Some 1,700+ foodies bought tickets to see a live conversation with television chefs Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert as they took to the stage at The Hippodrome theatre. Morning radio personality Reagan, from MIX 106.5, introduced the pair, and they proceeded to regale the audience with tales from their careers in fine dining restaurants and on TV. The show was followed by a Q&A session with the audience and then a post-show reception featuring samplings from 20 of Baltimore's best restaurants.

STYLE at the Station

Baltimore STYLE magazine and Green Spring Station hosted a day of fashion fun on Thursday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Green Spring Station. It was the perfect spring outing for shoppers who enjoyed special in-store promotions and trunk shows featuring some of today's hottest designers, including Nicole Miller, Tommy Bahama, Anna Balkan, Phoebe Couture, LA Made, Designs by Irene, Spanx, and Halia, among many others! While guests perused the Station’s boutiques and novelty stores, they listened to Greta & Joe LIVE at Matava Shoes, gazed at bridal models at The Event Library, tasted scrumptious culinary creations at The Nut Farm & Creamery, and mingled with Dishing Up Maryland’s author, Lucie Snodgrass, and photographer, Edwin Remsburg, at The Pleasure of Your Company. As the shopping momentum came to a close toward the end of the evening, guests relaxed at one of Green Spring’s fine restaurants.

Baltimore Retail Week Kickoff

To kick off Baltimore Retail Week, STYLE magazine, Downtown Partnership, and Epps Consulting hosted a special evening of glamour and fun at the Sky Lounge at Silo Point. As guests enjoyed Pazza Luna hors d'oeuvres, Charm City Cupcakes, and select wines compliments of Wine Wave, they mingled with models who showcased spring fashions from participating retailers, including A People United, Whimsy, and Urban Chic. To help jump start the shopping extravaganza, gift certificates to local boutiques like Whimsy, Bratt Décor, Amy's boutique, and doubledutch boutique were given away to a lucky select few. Girls' Night Out

Radcliffe Jewelers and STYLE magazine hosted a special evening of fun—just for the ladies. As guests perused the Pikesville store for the latest jewelry of the season, including Roberto Coin's newest creations, they sampled a selection of South Western chicken salad in profiterole, filet of beef roulade, roasted capon salad gougere, as well as French miniature pastries and sweets provided by Linwoods. Throughout the evening, guests received pampering from About Faces with mini manicures, updos, and makeup consultations, and shopped the store with personal champagne flutes in hand. At the end of the evening, a diamond palm tree pendant, About Faces spa packages, and a Cinghiale gift certificate were awarded to a lucky select few.

Covergirl and STYLE at the Festival of the Trees
November 21, 2009

This year marked the 20th birthday for Kennedy Krieger's Festival of Trees. This event draws more than 30,000 visitors over 3 days and raises money for Kennedy Krieger Institute and their efforts in helping individuals with brain disorders. Together STYLE Magazine and COVERGIRL joined to decorate a tree, named Boughs of Beauty. On Monday, Nov. 24, employees from both organizations came together to create a tree showcasing COVERGIRL products as ornaments. During the festival a lucky individual purchased the tree for $250, which goes directly toward Kennedy Krieger's efforts. Boughs of Beauty won a first place ribbon for Corporate Identity. The Skyline Cookout

The Skyline Cookout was the latest event to take place at the STYLE Lounge at Silo Point. It was a gorgeous evening, particularly out on the terrace overlooking the Inner Harbor from the 19th floor. Fifty guests mingled, sipping sangria, wines and Dogfish Head brews. The Wine Market provided summer-perfect wines and tasty bites like green chile burgers, barbecued salmon, summer slaw and fruit salad. Style wine guru Laurie Forster picked the wines and offered wine tips.

Corvino's Grand Opening Party
April 23, 2009

Owner Brian McComas and chef Chris Paternotte welcomed guests to the Grand Opening party at the new Taverna Corvino in Federal Hill. Co-sponsors of the party included Maseratti of Baltimore, Peroni Beer and Style Magazine. Guests strolled a red carpet past two sparkling Maseratti automobiles and were greeted by several Peroni Girls as they entered the party. Inside, passed hors d'oeuvres from the kitchen, as well as Peroni beers, bellinis and Negronis, were offered, and partygoers posed for pictures in front of a logo backdrop.

Style Magazine 20th Anniversary Party
January 22, 2009

Style magazine kicked off its 20th year of publishing with a party for 220 friends of the magazine held at Silo Point. Prime Outlets provided models and fashions from their stores and Cover Girl cosmetics brought along McKey, a recent winner of "America's Next Top Model" to model clothing, meet guests and sign autographs. Guests were treated to multiple food stations and passed hors d'oeuvres, all by chef Jerry Edwards of Chef's Expressions. The martini bar was sponsored by Chopin Vodka.

Lynne Cheney Book Lecture

Members and guests of the Maryland Historical Society turned out for a talk by Lynne Cheney, discussing her new children's book, "We the People: The Story of Our Constitution." Prior to the talk, about 30 invited VIP guests gathered in the Society's Counting Room for an intimate cocktail reception to meet the author. Mrs. Cheney remained after her lecture to sign copies of her book.

Shop Hop
August 27, 2008

It was a shopping and sipping extravaganza when some 250 guests joined Style and PaperDoll magazines for their first-ever Shop Hop fall preview shopping event downtown at the 1840's Ballroom. Twenty area boutiques, including Diva, Urban Chic, Fresh, South Moon Under, Cupcake, Whimsey & Reason and Lord & Lady Bug showcased their fall collections and offered everything at a 20% discount. The clothes flew off the racks as the crowd shopped, socialized and enjoyed cocktails and nibbles by Crabtree Catering. Proceeds from the event also benefited Baltimore Outreach Services.

May/June Issue Launch Party

Special guest Saleisha Stowers, the newest 'face' of CoverGirl cosmetics (and winner of the most recent 'America's Next Top Model') was on hand to greet guests and lead the evening's fashion show, featuring looks by local boutiques Form, Babe, Bella Sopresa, Diva, Horse and Saucy.

Maryland Art Place Fall Gala

Patrons and benefactors of MAP gathered for cocktails and a seated dinner for 150 catered by Linwoods for their annual fall gala. The theme of the evening was "The Nude," and works by invited local artists on that theme hung in MAP's three galleries as guests mingled and submitted bids for the pieces in a silent auction.

Style magazine hosted 60 guests for the debut of its new Sept./Oct. 'Music Issue." Contributors, writers, photographers and those featured in the issue mingled at downtown club/lounge Mosaic in the Power Plant Live complex. Guests at the invitation-only affair enjoyed a sneak-peek at the new issue, sampled Southwestern tastings from Mex restaurant and enjoyed an open bar with the featured cocktail of the evening, the Patron Silver margarita.

Zoomerang
June 8, 2007
The annual black-tie event to support the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Zoomerang, drew hundreds to the Zoo's Druid Hill Park setting for an evening of dining and dancing. Some 50 different Baltimore restaurants offered samplings of their cuisine, while guests freely roamed the entire campus of the zoo, and multiple tents held a variety of live bands.

Maryland Institute Artafare
March 10, 2007
Several hundred costumed and black tie-clad partygoers arrived at the classical Main Building on Mt. Royal Avenue to support the Maryland Institute College of Art. After a cocktail hour in the grand hall, a spirited live auction of works by MICA alumni was conducted by Alex Cooper's Jon Levinson, then guests dispersed to dinner in one of ten themed rooms decorated by local celebrities. After dinner, guests enjoyed desserts and dancing into the wee hours.

Mosaic VIP Opening
