The recipe for Chartreuse is a closely guarded secret known to only the order of the Carthusian Monks trusted with its production. What we do know is that this luscious, complex liqueur is produced with 130 herbs, plants and flowers. Green Chartreuse makes for the perfect Spring spirit with the forward notes of rosemary, citrus and thyme. This Bijou cocktail pairs herbaceous Chartreuse with the clean crispness of Edinburgh gin for a delicate, fresh offering.
1 oz Edinburgh gin
1 oz Green Chartreuse
1 oz sweet vermouth
1 dash orange bitters
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and cherry.
